Justin Jefferson has an offensive-minded head coach

This might not sound like that much of a big deal. But the old-school ways of Mike Zimmer are now a thing of the past and the introduction of Kevin O’Connell as the new head coach is something that can benefit Justin Jefferson significantly.

O’Connell comes to the Vikings riding on the crest of a wave after playing a leading role in the Rams’ memorable Super Bowl triumph. It might have been Sean McVay’s offensive scheme, but he was the coordinator keeping everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

If O’Connell can bring this spark to Minnesota, the sky’s the limit. The Vikings have an abundance of talent that can be harnessed into something truly special and Jefferson will be among the focal points en route to a potential postseason return.

Even if Jefferson only takes a slight step forward, that might be enough to put the wideout in Triple Crown contention. Everything has to go right and the player must stay clear of injuries, but the possibilities are limitless regarding how O’Connell can deploy arguably the league’s best at the position.

O’Connell has been a breath of fresh air so far and the players have welcomed a different approach. Something that’s only raised hope of genuine progress in 2022.
