T.Y. Hilton – WR
Connection to Vikings: Ryan Grigson
Currently, the Vikings are pretty set at the top of their wide receiver depth chart with Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and K.J. Osborn. However, injuries are common in the sport of football, and if one of these three pass-catchers goes down, Minnesota’s receiver depth could be in shambles.
To prevent that from happening, the Vikings could see if T.Y. Hilton is interested in becoming part of an offense that Jefferson and Thielen have been raving about all offseason long.
With the Indianapolis Colts in 2021, Hilton appeared in 10 games and he caught 23 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns on 37 targets. Despite his lack of touches, the 32-year-old receiver still averaged 14.4 yards per catch last season.
Hilton is certainly not the playmaker that he once was a few years ago, but he could still provide Minnesota with an upgrade in depth behind Jefferson, Thielen, and Osborn.
If anyone is familiar with what Hilton can add to a team it is current Vikings senior vice president of player personnel, Ryan Grigson. As the general manager of the Colts, Grigson was part of the front office that drafted Hilton in 2012.
