Could another former Vikings player reunite with Stefon Diggs in Buffalo?

PFF recently suggested that the Buffalo Bills should consider signing former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who is currently a free agent.

Earlier this year, former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum was reunited with his former purple and gold teammate in wide receiver Stefon Diggs after the Cleveland Browns traded the veteran passer to the Buffalo Bills.

Before the 2022 season gets underway, Keenum might not end up being the only former member of the 2017 Vikings to reunite with Diggs in Buffalo.

Recently, PFF listed potential one trade or free-agent signing for each team around the NFL before this summer’s training camps begin, and for the Bills, they suggested last season’s AFC East champions attempt to sign Minnesota’s former No. 1 cornerback, Xavier Rhodes.

Rhodes last appeared in a Vikings uniform during the 2019 season. Since his departure from Minnesota, he’s spent two years with the Indianapolis Colts. The 32-year-old defender started 13 games for the Colts last season, but his play wasn’t much to rave about as he was only the 64th-best graded corner in the NFL by PFF.

Despite his underwhelming performance in 2021, Rhodes might be a good piece for Buffalo to add in order to increase their depth.

The Bills are entering the upcoming season with a cornerback group that has a bunch of question marks surrounding it. They drafted former Florida corner Kaiir Elam in the first round earlier this year and their top cover-man, Tre’Davious White, is coming off a 2021 season that was cut short by a torn ACL.

Buffalo defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier is very familiar with what Rhodes can add to a defense since he was the head coach in Minnesota when the veteran defensive back was drafted by the Vikings back in 2013.

Will any concerns about White’s health or Elam’s adjustment to the pros cause Rhodes to become the latest member of Minnesota’s successful 2017 roster to end up under contract with the Bills?
