Which Minnesota Vikings players find themselves on the chopping block ahead of the team’s 2022 training camp?

The Minnesota Vikings are in the final stages of planning before the all-important training camp ahead of the 2022 season. Another big opportunity for the new regime to stamp their own mark on the roster with a view to making a playoff return.

From a talent standpoint, the Vikings have strength in depth and some game-changing individuals who can alter the course of any contest. There is also a nice blend of youth and experience for Kevin O’Connell and his coaching staff to call upon.

Minnesota’s upcoming camp will be a great indication of what this team is capable of when competitive games commence. It’s also a time when some players will be nervously looking over their shoulders regarding starting spots and places on the 53-man roster.

With that being said, here are four Vikings players who could find themselves on the chopping block ahead of camp.

Jesse Davis – OL

According to ESPN’s depth chart projection, Jesse Davis is slotted in at the right guard position. But there is more than enough quality to suggest that might not be the case unless the offensive lineman blows everyone away in training camp.

The Vikings didn’t spend a second-round selection on Ed Ingram for him to sit on the sidelines for long. Progression is also expected from Wyatt Davis after an anonymous rookie campaign.

Davis has no margin for error following his arrival in free agency. So he’ll need to hit the ground running in no uncertain terms when camp gets underway.
