5 Vikings players you forgot about from the Mike Zimmer era
By Adam Carlson
Aldrick Robinson, WR (2018)
There could have been quite a few receivers on this list for the Vikings who basically faded away, but none of them were quite as abrupt as what happened with Aldrick Robinson and his short success with Minnesota.
Robinson signed a one-year deal with $790K with no guaranteed money to join the purple and gold. He seemed to have a good connection with quarterback Kirk Cousins and opened some eyes among fans. He wasn’t a big name like the others on the list but earned his notoriety through his play.
In 14 games played, Robinson only caught 17 passes but he made those receptions count by gaining 231 yards, scoring five touchdowns, and picking up a dozen first downs. His efforts made it seem like his return to the Vikings for 2019 would be a lock.
However, not only would Robinson not return to Minnesota but he would be done in the NFL. He never played another regular-season snap, but there will always be those big plays that some fans will remember…even if the name of who caught them isn’t on the tip of their tongues.
