In the eyes of the fan base, Garrett Bradbury is definitely not overrated because most Vikings fans don’t even think he’s good enough to be overrated.

But when it comes to the actual team and their new coaching staff, go right ahead and accuse them of overrating Bradbury.

Despite being one of the NFL’s worst centers in each of his three seasons in the league, Bradbury is still being penciled in as Minnesota’s starting center for the 2022 campaign. So far this offseason, there hasn’t even been a sign that the Vikings are going to give anyone else a chance to compete for the starting center job.

It’s great that Minnesota’s new coaching staff is confident in their abilities to get the most out of players, but not having any competition for Bradbury this year seems pretty naive. What has Minnesota’s 2019 first-round draft pick done in his career to prove that he deserves to continue on as the team’s starting center?

The Vikings clearly think they can utilize Bradbury in a better way than the previous regime. For their sake, however, hopefully they don’t learn the hard way that the young center just isn’t cut out to be a starter in the NFL.
