Position with Vikings:

  • Defensive backs coach (1985-1989)

Super Bowl Team:

  • Seattle Seahawks (2013)

Currently one of the oldest head coaches in the NFL with the Seahawks at the age of 70, Pete Carroll joined the Vikings in 1985 as part of the final coaching staff led by former Minnesota head coach Bud Grant.

Carroll spent five seasons with the Vikings, and as their defensive backs coach, he helped with the development of guys like Carl Lee and Joey Browner. In Carroll’s five years with Minnesota, Lee and Browner combined to earn seven trips to the Pro Bowl and three First-Team All-Pro selections.

In 1990, Carroll left the Vikings to become the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets. Along with the Jets, he had stints as either an assistant or a head coach with the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, and USC after his departure from Minnesota.

Then in 2010, Carroll left USC to become the head coach in Seattle, a position that he obviously still holds. In his 12 seasons as the team’s head coach, he’s led the Seahawks to five NFC West titles, nine playoff appearances, two Super Bowl berths, and one Vince Lombardi trophy.
