Reason 1: A major culture shift

As more details continued to emerge about the major disconnect between the GM, head coach, and players over the last few years, it became more obvious why things weren’t working for the Minnesota Vikings.

The hard-nosed old-school style of Mike Zimmer didn’t seem to work with a younger generation of players and Rick Spielman’s draft picks didn’t seem to entirely fit what vision Zimmer had for his roster.

Now, GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell are starting things off with a collaboration of ideas. They share ideologies and concepts to create a roster together to compete for the NFC North.

That connection between the new GM and HC is already echoing through the locker room and creating a completely different culture full of energy and excitement. That feeling will help translate into success and teamwork among the players, hopefully resulting in more wins and a playoff berth.
