Reason 5: Unleashing Kirk Cousins
Statistically, Kirk Cousins has been excellent for the Minnesota Vikings since arriving in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. In his four seasons here, he has thrown for 16,387 yards and 124 touchdowns compared to only 36 interceptions while completing 68.3 percent of his passes.
It’s wild to think that he could be even better in 2022. Justin Jefferson should continue to be a destructive force as a receiver and veteran Adam Thielen will be his go-to when it comes to the red zone. But this season should feel refreshing for Cousins for a different reason.
Cousins will have an offensive-minded head coach to play to his strengths and an offensive coordinator who can get the most out of him. He will be trusted to make plays and feel like more of a leader with more responsibilities and opportunities.
Don’t be surprised if Kirk Cousins comes out firing this season. He has an offense around him that believes in his accuracy and arm power and will be able to break free from the confines of his previous role with the Minnesota Vikings.
