Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson recently shared that he believes the team has what it takes to earn a spot in the Super Bowl next season.

Ask just about any player in the NFL what their goal is for the upcoming season and most of them will likely say they’re hoping to win the Super Bowl. Even for a team like the Minnesota Vikings that has missed the playoffs in three of the last four years, players inside their locker room have their sights set high for 2022.

Heading into his third season with the Vikings, star wide receiver Justin Jefferson recently revealed during a Bleacher Report AMA what the expectations are for his current team in the upcoming 2022 campaign.

"“We’re expecting big things. All of us are expecting to at least make the playoffs. We’re feeling with all of these players on this team, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be there for the big game.”"

In year three, we should expect Jefferson to take on more of a leadership role in Minnesota. Speaking about playing in the “big game” is certainly one way for him to let his teammates know that he has confidence in their abilities out on the field.

Expecting to at least make the playoffs as Jefferson revealed should definitely be the goal for the Vikings in 2022. Considering how they kept the majority of the 2021 roster together this year, Minnesota not making the playoffs next season would seem like a colossal failure.

Is a head coaching change all the Vikings needed to realize their potential? We’ll be able to find out when the 2022 regular season begins in September, and if the change doesn’t result in a postseason berth for Minnesota, a lot of Jefferson’s teammates could be shown the door in 2023.
