#1: The new offensive philosophy folds

Under head coach Mike Zimmer, the offensive philosophy was simple. The Minnesota Vikings wanted to control the clock on offense and limit the number of times their opposition had possession of the football.

That will likely look much different in 2022. Although running the ball will still be a focus of the offense, creating explosive plays and relying more on the passing attack is something that head coach Kevin O’Connell and offensive coordinator Wes Phillips are aiming to accomplish.

But what if this offense struggles to execute the new plays? Not being able to put points up against some of the tough defenses the Vikings are set to take up this season would set the squad up for failure.

Although it’s unlikely that a smart quarterback, dynamic receivers l, and a punishing running back won’t be able to execute the offense the team is trying to install, it must be of some concern until fans see the team in action.
