Top 32 NFL QBs of 2022: Where does Vikings QB Kirk Cousins rank?
By Adam Patrick
No. 12: Derek Carr (Las Vegas Raiders)
No team dealt with more distractions than the Raiders last season and Las Vegas quarterback Derek Carr had every right to use one of these distractions as an excuse to not play well. But he didn’t do that.
Instead, Carr helped the Raiders earn a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Las Vegas and their quarterback weren’t able to do much damage in the postseason, but them getting to the playoffs was a huge accomplishment on its own considering what the franchise was dealing with in 2021.
This offseason, Carr was rewarded for his efforts last year when the Raiders made a trade with the Green Bay Packers to acquire the quarterback’s former college teammate, wide receiver Davante Adams.
Add in one of the most creative offensive minds in the game in Josh McDaniels as Las Vegas’ new head coach and Carr could be heading into one of the best seasons of his career.
No. 11: Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys)
After a brutal ankle injury in 2020, Dak Prescott returned to the field last season and delivered one of the best performances of his career.
Prescott threw for over 4,400 yards in 2021 while also setting new single-season career-highs for passing touchdowns (37) and completion percentage (68.8).
With Kellen Moore back as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator this year, Prescott has a chance to put up even better numbers next season. Depending on how well Dallas ends up playing, the 28-year-old quarterback has the talent to emerge as an MVP candidate in 2022.
