No. 28: Jared Goff (Detroit Lions)

In his first season without Sean McVay calling the plays for him since 2016, Jared Goff wasn’t terrible. But he wasn’t very good either.

Goff’s numbers were decent in 2021, (3,245 yards, 19 touchdowns, 8 interceptions), but his play on the field didn’t amount to many wins for the Lions. With him starting under center last season, Detroit went 3-10-1 (including a last-second victory over the Vikings, sorry for the reminder Cam Dantzler).

If Goff wants to remain a starter in the NFL, then he has to perform much better for the Lions in 2022 than he did last season. Otherwise, it’s very possible that Detroit will look to move on from him in 2023.

No. 27: Justin Fields (Chicago Bears)

Currently, Bears fans are being led to believe that Justin Fields is their franchise quarterback. However, Chicago didn’t do very much during the last few months to provide Fields the help he needs to succeed in 2022.

The Bears hired a new head coach with a defensive background and their new offensive coordinator has never called plays during his career as an assistant in the NFL. Don’t worry though, Fields will be throwing to a group of wide receivers that includes Byron Pringle, N’Keal Harry, and Tajae Sharpe.

The young quarterback has the talent to potentially have a successful career in the league. Unfortunately for Fields, it doesn’t seem Chicago is interested in doing everything they can to make that possible though.
