No. 22: Baker Mayfield (Carolina Panthers)

It took a little bit, but Baker Mayfield finally got out of Cleveland earlier this month. Mayfield is now with the Panthers and it’s likely not going to be very difficult for him to beat out Sam Darnold for the starting job this summer.

When it comes to Mayfield in 2022, he’s probably going to be more motivated than ever to prove his doubters wrong. He just spent an entire season playing hurt for a franchise that thanked him by kicking him to the curb and replacing him with someone who has been accused of being a serial sexual assaulter.

With how motivated Mayfield is going to be, it wouldn’t be too shocking if he put Carolina on his back and carried them to the playoffs. But even if the Panthers don’t win a bunch of games in 2022, Mayfield will make them fun to watch both on the field and off of the field.

No. 21: Jameis Winston (New Orleans Saints)

Before suffering an unfortunate season-ending knee injury in 2021, Jameis Winston was arguably putting together the best performance of his NFL career.

In seven games with the Saints last season, Winston threw 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He also finished with a 102.8 quarterback rating and a QBR of 64.4.

Winston is back for another year in New Orleans, but he’ll have to try and recapture last year’s success without the help of Sean Payton in 2022, as the longtime Saints head coach retired after the end of last season.
