No. 18: Carson Wentz (Washington Commanders)

Similar to Kirk Cousins’ entire tenure with the Vikings, Carson Wentz put up some impressive numbers with the Indianapolis Colts last season, but it didn’t translate into enough success to get the team into the playoffs.

Frustrated with Wentz after just one year, the Colts sent the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to the Washington Commanders this offseason.

Now on his third team in the last three years, Wentz is running out of chances to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. He’s certainly an upgrade over what Washington has had under center recently, but if things don’t go well for him in 2022, the team could look to replace him in the near future.

No. 17: Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars)

No rookie quarterback was dealt a worse hand than Trevor Lawrence last season. Lawrence was thrown into a circus with the Jaguars in 2021 with Urban Meyer as the team’s head coach.

But Meyer is gone and Doug Pederson is now the guy in charge for Jacksonville. The same Pederson who led the Philadelphia Eagles to an unexpected Super Bowl win in 2017.

Pederson should be much better for the development of Lawrence moving forward and it shouldn’t take long for the young quarterback to show improvement in 2022.
