Another move the Minnesota Vikings made to ensure their new defense was set up for success was to grab another solid-tackling linebacker to put inside next to Pro Bowl defender Eric Kendricks. That need was filled by signing Jordan Hicks.

Hicks’ two-year contract worth $10 million was a bargain for a player that racks up tackles like crazy. He has accumulated over 100 tackles in each of his last three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and even had 150 tackles during his 2019 campaign.

Pairing Hicks with Eric Kendricks should bring amazing results. The duo should be able to provide a wall of defense in the second level of the defense and make it hard for opposing teams to break long plays resulting from good runs or short passes and yards after the catch.

For the value, Jordan Hicks was an excellent signing for the Vikings that should be low-risk, high-reward. The man nicknamed “Simba” may have turned 30 years old this year, but he should have enough gas in the tank to help out the team’s defense.
