7 bold predictions for the Vikings 2022 training camp

A similar roster takes some of the suspense from the Minnesota Vikings, but which storylines could dominate training camp?

When the Minnesota Vikings report to Eagan next week, they will do so with plenty of familiar faces. The big shakeup that was anticipated with the hiring of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah never happened and the Vikings will begin this season with a roster that hasn’t been over .500 in over 900 days.

But for all of the familiarity, there is one name that stands out: Kevin O’Connell.

After winning a Super Bowl under the tutelage of Sean McVay, O’Connell will break off on his own. His main objective is to get out of this roster what Mike Zimmer couldn’t and lead the Vikings to their first playoff appearance since 2019.

It’s a bold objective for a first-time head coach, and it also leaves us searching for excitement during training camp.

With O’Connell unlikely to put his players through the old-school grind as Zimmer’s training camp, a lot of the roster spots are already set. But there are still things to keep an eye on as the Vikings prepare for next season.
