7 bold predictions for the Vikings 2022 training camp

Cameron Dantzler will climb to the top of the depth chart
Last preseason was not a good one for Cameron Dantzler, and it derailed most of his sophomore season. After a poor performance in training camp, Dantzler played even worse in games, leaving Zimmer to start Bashaud Breeland.
Perhaps Zimmer should have switched back to Dantzler earlier, but there were still flaws in his game. In his third year, Dantzler will have a chance to make up for lost time and ascend to the top spot on the depth chart.
If it seems far-fetched, look at the depth chart. Patrick Peterson has had a Hall of Fame-worthy career but is entering his age-32 season. Second-round pick Andrew Booth Jr. could also make a case, but he’s already recovering from a foot injury. Fourth-round pick Akayleb Evans seems like a project and the incumbent Kris Boyd could be a long shot to make the roster.
Any of those players could make a bid to become the top corner, but the Vikings need Dantzler to be the guy. With a new staff, he should get a fresh start and make the most of the opportunity.
