Which Minnesota Vikings players are entering the last chance saloon during their upcoming training camp in 2022?

Preparations are in their final stages for the Minnesota Vikings before a hugely important training camp for the organization. This will be the first under new head coach Kevin O’Connell, who’ll look to stamp his mark across the organization with a view to hitting the ground running next season.

The Vikings certainly have plenty going for them in 2022. O’Connell’s introduction has been a breath of fresh air, and if this continues in camp, then a possible postseason return might not be far behind.

Many on the Vikings already have their status confirmed for the new season. Others are fighting for varying roles and even their futures with the team before the dreaded final cuts later this summer.

On this topic, here are four Vikings players entering the last chance saloon when camp begins.

Chris Reed – OL

Chris Reed was only signed by the Vikings this offseason, but this appears to be his final chance of securing a starting role. His place on the depth chart should be assured, but the veteran will not want to settle for a rotational role during his first season with the franchise.

Reed excels in run blocking, but the pass protection is sometimes suspect. He’s also a little long in the tooth to learn anything new at this juncture.

Competition for places is expected to be fierce on the offensive line interior. If Reed cannot make an instant impression, it’s hard to gauge what his role will be in 2022.
