Who is healthy and who is not?

The Vikings are usually pretty mum on the health of their team during mini camps and even the offseason. They aren’t required to disclose injuries, so they don’t.

This leaves Minnesota fans debating and wondering about which players are healthy and which ones are more injured than the team is letting on.

There are a handful of guys whose health will be in question during training camp this year. The biggest question will likely have to do with Vikings pass rusher, Danielle Hunter.

Supposedly, Hunter is fully recovered from his torn pectoral injury, and he seems to be ready to go. How much he participates in drills and 11-on-11s this summer could show how ready he is to see action in the season and return to being one of the most dominating defenders in the NFL.

Another Minnesota player who will be monitored very closely during the next few weeks is Irv Smith Jr., their top tight end.

Smith was treated with white gloves during Vikings OTAs earlier this year and it’ll be interesting to see how quickly the team takes those gloves off.

While Minnesota’s new regime wasn’t around last summer, the fact the young tight end was lost for the entire season a year ago during a meaningless preseason game should be on their minds. A healthy Smith could be an X-factor for the Vikings in 2022 and one that could be key to them making a playoff run.

The last Minnesota player who should be watched closely during camp is Andrew Booth Jr., the cornerback they drafted in the second round earlier this year.

Booth is coming off sports hernia surgery and he didn’t see any action with the Vikings during the spring. Minnesota’s brass said it was just precautionary and he’ll be ready for training camp.

Well, Booth reported to camp on Sunday, and we will soon find out if he will be an active participant in practice or if he will be taking the sessions in from the sidelines.
