Randy Moss – WR

Randy Moss is not only a Vikings legend himself, but a legend at the wide receiver position as a whole. After all, it’s not many times a player’s last name becomes a subculture for clearing a defensive back and jumping over their opponent for the ball.

His rookie season still holds an NFL record for most receiving touchdowns at 17, and Moss’s also holds the record for most receiving touchdowns in a single season with 23, a feat he accomplished when playing for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

But like Moss’s first stint with Minnesota, all good things must come to an end, and such happened in New England. Absent a contract offer, Moss felt he didn’t feel wanted by the Patriots and requested a trade. That request eventually turned into a trade resulting in his second stint with the Vikings.

Moss was traded to Minnesota during the 2010 season for the Vikings’ third-round pick in the 2011 draft, with the Patriots also sending a 2012 seventh-rounder along the way. Moss did make a famous highlight in his second stint when he caught Brett Favre’s 500th touchdown pass.

But not much more was left to be seen, as once Moss criticized then head coach Brad Childress, he was waived from the team. Moss ended up finishing the year with the Tennessee Titans, and Childress was fired several weeks later.

Moss went on to play for the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, and he never signed a one-day contract with any team to retire. But he’s made it known he’s a Viking with his segments at ESPN. And outside of “straight cash homey” another quote that can sum up his second stint would be “Get out your No. 84 jerseys.”

However, he is not the only Vikings legend and Hall of Famer to have multiple stints with Minnesota, which leads us to our final player to do just such.
