A change-up at right guard

Previously, Jesse Davis was working as the first-team offense’s right guard for the Minnesota Vikings during training camp but that wasn’t the case for Day 3 of training camp since Chris Reed was taking on that role.

Chris Tomasson shared on Twitter that Matthew Coller noticed Davis was off to the side of the field with a wrap over his knee. Nothing much was addressed about the situation, but it is still worth noting.

As of now, it appears as though the veterans are getting most of the action at right guard while the coaching staff continues to evaluate rookie Ed Ingram to see where he fits into the depth chart heading into the season.

It will be interesting to see how the battles work out. Ingram will need to beat out two veterans to win the job while experience will be a huge benefit for both Davis and Reed in the competition. Keep an eye on this position going forward.
