Quick news and notes from camp

The Minnesota Vikings seem to really love having legends at training camp. So far, guys like Jared Allen, Alan Page, and Chuck Foreman have been guests of the team and it seems to have raised morale among the players.

Along with those great visits from notable purple and gold players, there were some other things to take away from the team’s activities on Saturday with most of them being positive things for the team.

  • Getting a rest. Rookie cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. got the day off from activities. This could be due to his excellent camp to this point and likely means good things for the young defensive back.
  • A good day for the other corners. Will Ragatz of SI shared that Cameron Dantzler had a good day covering Adam Thielen and Patrick Peterson broke up a couple of passes.
  • The receivers made plays. Bisi Johnson got noticed and K.J. Osborn made a nice, long reception and some nice grabs today. Of course, Justin Jefferson continued to remind fans of just how good he is.
  • Playing Hot Potato. The Vikings’ defense may have broken up some plays but they couldn’t make the most of some opportunities, including hauling in interceptions. Several catchable balls fell to the ground instead.

The Minnesota Vikings will get a day off on Sunday, July 31 to rest up before having three consecutive walkthroughs from Monday to Wednesday and then taking a day off to prepare for most sessions during the week.
