Justin Jefferson leads the NFL in receiving

Justin Jefferson is ready to take on the Cooper Kupp role in Minnesota. Following Kupp’s record-breaking season last year with the Rams, Vikings players and fans alike are giddy with anticipation to watch Jefferson enjoy success in the same role. He even recently made the comment that after this season, he will be the best receiver in the NFL.

Jefferson will transition to a pass-first offense from a system that took several weeks to get him involved in the offense during his rookie season in 2020. He should see a very heavy dosage of targets this year and the production that should follow could challenge previously held franchise and league receiving records.

Jefferson is primed to lead the NFL in receiving this season after already having the most receiving yards in a player’s first two years in league history. Should he lead the NFL in receiving this year, it will likely indicate that Minnesota’s offense as a whole enjoyed a lot of success.

If they can play good football in the other two phases (defense and special teams) the Vikings will be in good shape to have a successful season in Kevin O’Connell’s first year.
