Garrett Bradbury is proving he is still terrible in training camp

It didn’t take long in training camp for Minnesota Vikings center Garrett Bradbury to remind everyone why he’s had such a disappointing career.

Despite adding a new coaching staff and a new general manager this year, the Minnesota Vikings decided to bring back a high number of notable players from their 2021 roster for the upcoming season. Vikings center Garrett Bradbury is among the returning players that the team is attempting to move forward with, but he’s already making them look foolish.

During Bradbury‘s three years in the NFL, he has consistently struggled with keeping defensive linemen in front of him when he’s been in pass-blocking situations. Oftentimes, opposing defenders will just move the Vikings center out of the way like he’s a rag doll.

During Minnesota’s first padded practice of their 2022 training camp on Monday, the team’s new coaching staff got to see Bradbury’s lack of strength in person.

When should the Minnesota Vikings be concerned about Garrett Bradbury?

One of the new faces the Vikings actually added to their roster this offseason is defensive tackle, Harrison Phillips. On Monday, Bradbury got a chance to try and block Phillips, and let’s just say, it didn’t go very well.

Currently, Minnesota has made no indication that anyone else will get a chance to open the regular season as the team’s starting center other than Bradbury.

If this continues to be the Vikings’ mentality, then nothing is likely going to change during the 2022 campaign when it comes to quarterback Kirk Cousins dealing with pressure from up the middle.

Hopefully, Minnesota’s new coaching staff is able to figure out ways to make sure that Bradbury’s weaknesses don’t have a significant impact on the offense this year. But based on how his performance went on Monday, the Vikings still have a lot of work to do before the start of the season.
