Right guard job is Davis’ to lose
Heading into this year’s training camp, the right guard spot on the Vikings’ starting offensive line was definitely one of the positions on the roster with some of the most questions surrounding it.
No one was really sure what direction Minnesota was going to head in with the position following their OTAs and minicamp this past spring. So far though, the Vikings have made it pretty clear who they have in mind to open the 2022 season as their starting right guard.
Minnesota opened up this summer’s training camp with Jesse Davis lining up in the right guard spot with the first-team offense. Davis has taken part in the majority of the Vikings’ camp practices, and each time, the team has had him working as their starting right guard.
Veteran Chris Reed and rookie Ed Ingram still have plenty of time this summer to emerge as Minnesota’s first-team right guard. For now, however, the job seems like it’s Davis’ to lose.
