In their farewell video to former linebacker Anthony Barr, the Minnesota Vikings made sure to include an infamous clip of him tackling Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr had signed a deal to play for the Dallas Cowboys this season. Following his departure, the Vikings decided to put out a short video that featured some of Barr’s highlights in purple and gold, including an infamous hit he had on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in 2017.

Unsurprisingly, Packers fans were not thrilled about Barr’s hit on Rodgers being included in the video, and they flooded the replies of Minnesota’s Twitter account to share their thoughts.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers still has to face former Minnesota Vikings LB Anthony Barr in 2022

Rodgers was probably relieved to see Barr leave the NFC North and sign with the Cowboys earlier this week. However, the Packers quarterback will still have to go up against the former Minnesota linebacker as Green Bay will take on Dallas this season in a Week 10 matchup at Lambeau Field.

Coincidentally, Barr and the Cowboys will then take on the linebacker’s former team in Week 11 this season when Dallas travels to the Twin Cities to face the Vikings inside U.S. Bank Stadium.

After spending the first eight years of his NFL career with Minnesota, Barr will see if he can make an impact for another team for the first time since he entered the league in 2015.

When speaking with the local Dallas media on Friday, Barr said that he’s “excited” to be with the Cowboys and he believes his new team “is a contender.”

Dallas finished with a 12-5 record last season and they’ll be looking to finish with something similar this year. Could Barr end up being a key piece in helping the Cowboys get back to the NFC Championship for the first time since 1995?
