Kris Boyd – CB

Kris Boyd is a favorite in the Vikings locker room as he always seems to be making his teammates laugh. However, Boyd’s uncertain status with Minnesota is no laughing matter.

The 25-year-old corner is in his fourth training camp with the Vikings and this summer seemed like a great opportunity for him to emerge as one of the team’s top reserve defensive backs.

Instead of that happening though, Boyd has missed multiple practices in Minnesota’s camp so far, and this has given some of the team’s young corners like Andrew Booth Jr. and Akayleb Evans the opportunity to pass him on the depth chart.

At this point, Boyd desperately needs some strong showings in the Vikings’ three preseason games this summer in order to remain on their final roster.

He needs to prove that he is still worth keeping around, whether that be as a key reserve in the defensive backfield or as an impact player on special teams. If he doesn’t, he’s not going to be laughing about the outcome.
