Wyatt Davis – OG

When it comes to Wyatt Davis, one can easily argue that he was already very low on the Vikings’ depth chart. Still, Davis hasn’t really done anything this summer to prove that he deserves to climb Minnesota’s depth chart either.

Despite being a two-time All-American during his college career at Ohio State, the young offensive lineman has not been able to continue playing at a high level in the NFL.

Last year, some thought he might emerge out of the Vikings’ training camp and preseason as a possible starter for the team at right guard. This summer, Davis is currently fighting to keep his NFL dreams alive.

New interior linemen like Chris Reed and rookie Ed Ingram have been getting the opportunities to work with the first and second-team offensive lines for Minnesota in training camp so far and not Davis. It’s becoming more and more clear that there probably isn’t a spot for Davis on the active roster this year.

Maybe things could end up differently after the preseason, but there currently seems to be a good chance that the Vikings’ former third-round draft pick won’t be on the team’s roster when they make their final cuts in a few weeks.
