5 Vikings who have been M.I.A in training camp so far

Austin Schlottmann – C
We have heard plenty of rumblings in camp about the center position on the Vikings. Apparently, Garrett Bradbury still can’t anchor and is getting decimated by Harrison Phillips on a routine basis. We have also heard that Chris Reed has been taking reps at second-team center, and he has had some lousy shotgun snaps, but he appears to be the backup plan if Bradbury’s struggles continue.
One player we haven’t heard much at all about is new Viking Austin Schlottman. Schlottman came over from the Denver Broncos in the offseason to be the primary backup to Bradbury. He only had seven career starts in Denver, but there were a handful of former Broncos coaches who came to Minnesota and they deemed Schlottman good enough to sign.
Through nearly a dozen days of camp, there haven’t been any rumblings about how Schlottmann is fitting in. We haven’t heard if he is struggling against the Vikings’ big-nose tackles like Bradbury, or if he’s holding his own. Maybe he’s doing just fine, but the fact they are moving Chris Reed to center and he is getting second-team reps doesn’t bode well for Schlottmann’s chances of making the team.
We will likely get a look at Schlotmann in the first preseason game and we can all judge with our own eyes whether or not he is worthy of making the final 53-man roster.
