Bradbury might have started his last game for the Vikings

When Kevin O’Connell became the head coach of the Vikings one of the things that he preached in an early press conference was his faith in Garrett Bradbury. He didn’t flat out say it, but he insinuated they could correct his flaws through coaching and that he expected him to be a starter for the team this season.

It’s probably safe to say that O’Connell is changing his tune on the former first-round pick after seeing him up close for the last couple of weeks.

This is definitely becoming a broken record, but Bradbury just cannot anchor against big, powerful defensive linemen and that has been apparent in camp. He’s been destroyed by “Horrible” Harrison Phillips on multiple occasions proving that he is once again going to be a liability when facing a bull rush.

The Vikings have already elevated Chris Reed to backup center, and if Bradbury falters in the first preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, there’s no doubt Reed will be seeing first-team reps during the final weeks of training camp.

That would all but put an end to Bradbury’s stint as the Vikings’ starting center and signal that this will be his last season in Minnesota.
