Austin Schlottmann

Another in-house option for the Minnesota Vikings, Austin Schlottmann is a guard/center who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos before signing with the purple and gold in 2022.

Schlottmann was an undrafted free agent out of TCU in 2018. He played in 42 games for the Broncos, starting seven of those contests. Minnesota signed him hoping he could provide depth and competition for the offensive line.

It would be a little surprising if Schlottmann were to win the starting center job this season. Although he is listed as the backup center on the team’s unofficial depth chart, he hasn’t been getting the reps that Reed has been getting in camp.

Still, Austin Schlottmann shouldn’t be entirely counted out of this competition. If he shines during the preseason, that could earn him more reps in camp and eventually earn him more reps with the first team offense.
