Gardner Minshew

  • Current Status: Under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles

Once a starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Gardner Minshew is currently battling for a spot on the Eagles’ 2022 roster for the second year in a row.

Minshew spent last season with the Eagles and he even started two games for them. In four appearances last year, he completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 439 yards, four touchdowns, and only one interception.

Aside from his record (8-14), Minshew’s career numbers are pretty impressive with 5,969 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions during his three seasons in the NFL.

He’s currently in the final year of his contract, so Philadelphia might be looking to get something in return for him in a trade this summer if they’re assuming that he will sign with a different team in 2023.

The Eagles only had to give up a sixth-round draft pick in 2021 to acquire Minshew from the Jaguars, so the price to land him likely wouldn’t be too high for the Vikings.

If Philadelphia is hoping to enter the regular season with him as their No. 2 quarterback though, they might want a fourth or fifth-round draft selection to let him go. But still, that’s not a price tag that should prevent Minnesota from making any sort of deal.
