It looks as though former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Chad Beebe will once again be searching for a team to call home in 2022.

Chad Beebe spent four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings where he worked his way from an undrafted free agent to the practice squad where he earned a role on special teams before eventually finding time with the offense.

At one time, his trajectory felt similar to that of Adam Thielen. However, the Cinderella story ended in Minnesota for Beebe after the 2021 NFL season when he wasn’t brought back to the team for the following season.

It was a minor surprise that Beebe was allowed to walk considering his receiving numbers improved each year in the league and he gave added value by playing special teams. He ended up signing with the Houston Texans during the offseason.

Beebe is back on the market

Sadly, Chad Beebe won’t get a chance to prove himself with the Texans this season. The Houston Chronicle shared that he was part of Houston’s initial cuts to trim the roster to 85 players. He and defensive end Jordan Jenkins were the final two cuts to reach 85.

It is unlikely that the Minnesota Vikings will bring Beebe back to the team. For the first time in many years, the purple and gold locker room is stacked with established talent and high-potential young players that adding another body to the mix doesn’t make any sense.

However, there are plenty of teams in the NFL who could use a solid special teams player with some receiving upside on their roster. The son of former NFL receiver Don Beebe will likely latch on to another franchise and continue to help out as many ways as possible.
