Running Backs (4)
IN
- Dalvin Cook
- Alexander Mattison
- Kene Nwangwu
- Ty Chandler
OUT
- C.J. Ham (FB)
- Bryant Koback
There was a reason why the Vikings selected Ty Chandler in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft and we all found out last Sunday. Chandler still has plenty of work left to do though, so showing someone like Alexander Mattison the door probably wouldn’t be the best decision for Minnesota to make before the start of the regular season.
Unfortunately, with the fact that the Vikings’ new offensive scheme isn’t really expected to utilize a fullback, there isn’t much of a reason to keep C.J. Ham around.
Wide Receivers (6)
IN
- Justin Jefferson
- Adam Thielen
- K.J. Osborn
- Ihmir Smith-Marsette
- Jalen Nailor
- Trishton Jackson
OUT
- Bisi Johnson
- Myron Mitchell
- Dan Chisena
- Albert Wilson
Minnesota is no longer a team that will head into the regular season with just four wide receivers on their roster as they did in 2019.
Picking who will get that final No. 6 spot on the depth chart will probably be the hardest decision for the Vikings to make with this group. But in the end, Trishton Jackson’s upside will help him stick around for the regular season over veterans like Bisi Johnson and Albert Wilson.
