Tight Ends (4)

IN

  • Irv Smith Jr.
  • Johnny Mundt
  • Ben Ellefson
  • Zach Davidson

OUT

  • Nick Muse
  • Sean Beyer

Ideally, the Vikings would probably like to only keep three tight ends on their roster this season. But with there still being injury uncertainty about Irv Smith Jr., the smart thing for Minnesota to do is to keep four tight ends on their final roster.

Offensive Linemen (10)

IN

  • Christian Darrisaw (LT)
  • Ezra Cleveland (LG)
  • Garrett Bradbury (C)
  • Ed Ingram (RG)
  • Brian O’Neill (RT)
  • Blake Brandel (OT)
  • Oli Udoh (OT)
  • Chris Reed (OG)
  • Kyle Hinton (OG)
  • Austin Schlottmann (C)

OUT

  • Jesse Davis (T/G)
  • Vederian Lowe (OT)
  • Timon Parris (OT)
  • Wyatt Davis (OG)
  • Josh Sokol (C)

Thanks to not having much of a backup plan, the Vikings will head into their first matchup of the regular season against Kenny Clark and the Packers with Garrett Bradbury as their starting center once again. Austin Schlottmann performed fairly well in Minnesota’s preseason contest last weekend, so he might be able to get a shot at starting this year if (more likely, when) things go poorly for Bradbury.

The rise of rookie guard Ed Ingram happened pretty quickly this summer and he’s now on the path to opening the regular season as the starting right guard. With this being the case, the Vikings will give Jesse Davis the boot.
