Cousins is poised to prove his doubters wrong
During his first four seasons with the Vikings, Kirk Cousins put up numbers that the fan base hasn’t seen in a long time from a quarterback in their favorite team’s uniform, not at a consistent rate at least.
In fact, Cousins is the only quarterback in Minnesota’s history to have multiple seasons with at least 4,000 passing yards and 25 passing touchdowns. Unfortunately, however, these impressive statistics haven’t amounted to very much team success during the last four years.
This summer, Cousins seems ready more than ever to silence his doubters. With the Vikings now having a head coach with an offensive background in addition to being a former NFL quarterback, the team’s current staff might know how to get the most out of Cousins better than any that he’s worked with previously in his career.
For the most part, Minnesota’s veteran quarterback has had a good training camp this year. Will this performance carry over into the regular season? Well, that’s for Cousins and O’Connell to figure out during the next few weeks.
