Joseph is defying the odds
Kickers are a sore subject for those who have chosen to subject themselves to the yearly torture that is being a Vikings fan. With a new coaching staff this year, however, things might actually be different.
As opposed to years past when Mike Zimmer would act like a kicker ran over his dog if they missed a field-goal attempt (even in a preseason game), Minnesota’s new coaching staff appears to be taking a more positive approach, and what do you know, it seems to be working.
In his second training camp with the Vikings, Greg Joseph has been near perfect with his kicks from just about every distance. Minnesota special teams coach Matt Daniels even believes Joseph is about to have the best year of his NFL career.
Will this end up being true or will Vikings fans continue to have their hearts broken by a kicker? Until proven otherwise, unfortunately, we still have to stick with the latter.
