Osborn seems ready to break out

In his rookie year with the Vikings, K.J. Osborn wasn’t on the field for a single offensive snap. During his second season in Minnesota, Osborn surprised a lot of people and ended up emerging as the team’s No. 3 receiver.

Heading into year three with the Vikings, the young pass-catcher seems ready to further his development even more. Osborn has had a good training camp this summer and there’s no question that he deserves to be in the No. 3 spot on Minnesota’s wide receiver depth chart behind Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.

As the third receiver, Osborn’s role is expected to be much more important in the Vikings’ new offensive scheme than it was in 2021. This should mean more targets for the young playmaker and more chances to improve upon his numbers from last season (55 catches, 655 yards, seven touchdowns).

This might sound crazy, but Osborn even has the potential to overtake Thielen as Minnesota’s No. 2 receiver by the end of the upcoming season. It’s just a possibility for now, but don’t be surprised if it actually happens.
