Week 2 of the preseason wasn’t sexy for the Minnesota Vikings but there was still a lot to learn from the game against the 49ers.

The Minnesota Vikings continued their preseason in Week 2 by hosting the San Francisco 49ers in U.S. Bank Stadium after the two teams took part in joint practices earlier in the week at Vikings Lakes in Eagan, Minnesota.

Saturday’s game was a bit of a bore since nearly every projected starter sat out. It makes sense as a precautionary measure to make sure your key players make it to the regular season unscathed and ready to play.

Despite not being the most exciting game to watch, there were still some very talented players on the roster for the purple and gold who made the game a bit more interesting to watch and made some great plays.

Let’s take a look at six of the biggest takeaways from Saturday, Aug. 20 when the Minnesota Vikings lost to the San Francisco 49ers by a final score of 7 to 17 in front of fans at U.S. Bank Stadium.
