6 young Vikings likely to be cut before the 2022 season

Chazz Surratt – LB
Chazz Surratt is a part of the infamous group of four players the Vikings selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft that all failed to make any sort of impact on the team during their rookie seasons.
It’s hard to believe now, but Surratt was drafted before Minnesota selected Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Kene Nwangwu, and Camryn Bynum.
The Vikings’ previous regime couldn’t figure out what to do with the former college quarterback-turned-linebacker in 2021, and it seems like the team’s new regime doesn’t know what to do with him either.
It’s not like Surratt hasn’t had the opportunities to play either because he’s had the fifth-most defensive snaps of any Minnesota player this preseason. However, he also has the third-worst PFF grade of any defender who has played a snap for the Vikings in their two exhibition games this summer.
The Vikings selecting Surratt in the third round of the 2021 draft was a questionable decision, and it’s one that will probably be corrected very soon. He might be able to grab a spot on Minnesota’s practice squad this year, but don’t hold your breath.
