Both quarterbacks from this game are in danger of being cut

The Minnesota Vikings trading for quarterback Nick Mullins should have lit a fire under both Kellen Mond and Sean Mannion. Those two passers have been fighting for a role on this team through training camp and the preseason but now a decision must be made.

Since Mullins likely defaults into the backup role behind Kirk Cousins on the depth chart due to highly disappointing play by Mannion and Mond, the question of how many quarterbacks should be on the 2022 roster needs to be addressed.

If Minnesota goes with three quarterbacks, one of those two will likely make the team while the other hopes to latch on to the practice squad. It would likely be Mannion on the 53 with Mond on the practice squad.

However, if the Vikings move forward with two quarterbacks, both Mond and Mannion could find themselves being cut. If that happens, there is no guarantee that the quarterback that comes to the practice squad will be one of those two.
