Safeties (4)
IN
- Harrison Smith
- Lewis Cine
- Camryn Bynum
- Josh Metellus
Despite being Minnesota’s top draft pick this year, Lewis Cine likely isn’t going to open the regular season as one of the team’s starting safeties. That’s perfectly fine, however, as the Vikings will still probably attempt to think of creative ways to get Cine on the field and utilize some of his best attributes.
Someone could probably make a case for Myles Dorn to make Minnesota’s final roster as he had a solid preseason. But when picking between him and Josh Metellus, it just comes down to who made the fewer amount of mistakes this summer, and that wasn’t Dorn.
OUT
- Myles Dorn
- Mike Brown
Specialists (3)
IN
- Greg Joseph (K)
- Ryan Wright (P)
- Andrew DePaola (LS)
The Vikings moving on from veteran punter Jordan Berry last week was a bit of a surprising decision, but Ryan Wright wasted zero time in Denver to prove why he won the job.
Wright had four punts this past Saturday that traveled an average of 56.3 yards, and two of them landed inside the Broncos’ own 20-yard line. He also was the holder for all three of Greg Joseph’s kicks in Denver, all of which were converted, including an impressive 58-yard field goal.
