Vikings Cuts Tracker: Who did not make the final 53-man roster for 2022?
By Adam Patrick
Which players will not be joining the Minnesota Vikings on the team’s final 53-man roster for the upcoming 2022 regular season?
In less than two weeks, the Minnesota Vikings will be opening up the 2022 regular season against the Green Bay Packers. Before that happens though, the Vikings must decide which players they will be taking into that matchup as part of their final 53-man roster.
Minnesota has until Tuesday at 3 p.m. CT to reduce their current roster down to 53 players. The Vikings had 80 total members on their roster for their final preseason game this past weekend, so they’ll be parting ways with quite a few players in the near future.
To make things a little easier to follow, we’ve put together a cut tracker to keep tabs on all of the roster moves Minnesota makes before Tuesday’s deadline.

The Vikings began Monday with a bit of a shocker when multiple reports revealed that the team is releasing veteran defensive tackle T.Y. McGill. During the preseason, McGill was arguably Minnesota’s top performer on defense with a team-leading 3.5 sacks.
In addition to McGill, the Vikings have also moved on from wide receiver Myron Mitchell and cornerback Tye Smith according to the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson.
On Monday afternoon, the Vikings announced that McGill and wide receiver Bisi Johnson have been placed on the team’s injured reserve list. Minnesota also announced the departures of Mitchell, Smith, and offensive tackle Timon Parris.
The Vikings began Tuesday by moving on from linebacker Janarius Robinson, who the team selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Minnesota has reportedly already moved on from several other players on Tuesday, headlined by the decision to part with quarterback Kellen Mond.
The Vikings have announced all of the cuts and roster moves they made on Tuesday to trim their roster to the 53-man limit.
