An Eagles receiver that will be forever linked to Justin Jefferson has made his way to the Minnesota Vikings thanks to a trade.
Fans of the Minnesota Vikings will remember the 2020 NFL Draft when the receiver-needy Philadelphia Eagles were on the clock at No. 21 overall and potential superstar Justin Jefferson was still on the board when the purple and gold were up next.
Thankfully, Philly didn’t select the LSU standout with their selection, opting for TCU’s Jalen Reagor instead. Much to the delight of Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer. their choice became easy as they picked Justin Jefferson at No. 22 overall.
Reagor’s first two seasons with the Eagles were disappointing. He played 28 games over that period, catching 64 passes for 695 yards and three touchdowns. He started to look like a bust in Philly.
A change of scenery for Jalen Reagor
On Wednesday, it was announced by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport on Twitter that the Minnesota Vikings are taking a chance on the 23-year-old receiver and have worked out a trade for Reagor.
Joining a skill group that already includes Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, K.J Osborn, and rookie Jalen Nailor, Reagor will have to prove his worth when it comes to earning playing time. However, based on the compensation the Eagles received, they have high expectations for him.
NFL insider Adam Schefter shared on Twitter that the Vikings gave up a seventh-round pick in 2023 and a conditional fourth-rounder in 2024 that can become a fifth-round pick if conditions aren’t met.
It will be interesting to see how the fresh start for Jalen Reagor With the Minnesota Vikings impacts his playmaking ability. Also, a corresponding move on the 53-man roster has not yet been announced to get the purple and gold to 53 players on the roster.
