Christian Kirksey – LB (Houston Texans)

The Vikings once again find themselves in a spot where depth is lacking. While Eric Kendricks and Jordan Hicks are great players to have starting at inside linebacker, and third-round pick Brian Asamoah looks to be a star in the making, there are still some holes on the depth chart.

Troy Dye has been uninspiring in his past regular season and preseason appearances, which should raise the concern level about the depth in the linebacker room for Minnesota. The team isn’t looking to bring in a star player to run with the starters, but it would be nice for the Vikings to bulk up the depth at the position before it’s too late.

Houston Texans linebacker Christian Kirksey could be a player that the Vikings take a look at. Kirksey is now entering his ninth year in the league, most of which was spent in Cleveland.

Though he is slated to start for Houston, that is more due to the fact that Houston is lacking talent and less to do with Kirksey’s outstanding play. At 30 -years-old it seems to make little sense for the rebuilding Texans to hold onto Kirksey, and they would be better off shopping him to try and get any type of return.

If a team like Minnesota came knocking, Houston should be open to moving the veteran linebacker for whatever they can get.
