Greedy Williams – CB (Cleveland Browns)

The Vikings seem to have one of their deepest cornerback rooms in some time, yet it’s still not enough. Patrick Peterson and Cameron Dantzler are fine options as starters, and rookie Andrew Booth Jr. has what it takes to be a stud, but the position group still has plenty of question marks surrounding it.

Minnesota could use some extra depth at the position, and someone with starting experience in the NFL is just the cherry on top. This is where Greedy Williams comes into the picture.

Williams entered the league in 2019 as a second-round pick of the Cleveland Browns. Many people believed that Williams could be a future No. 1 corner in the NFL, and while he has started 20 games in his career (missed all of 2020 due to injury) it is starting to sound like Cleveland is willing to part ways with the 24-year-old.

Williams has not lived up to the hype that surrounded him just three years ago, and with his rookie contract coming to an end after this season, the Browns could be even more motivated to move him before he has the chance to walk away freely.

Trading for Greedy could be a risk, as there is also the chance that he walks out of Minnesota by the end of the year too. But the potential that he brings, along with his starting NFL experience is incredibly valuable.

Given Kwesi Adofo Mensah’s recent history in Cleveland, could the Vikings’ first-year general manager make a deal with his former team? Only time will tell.
