Vikings out for the entire 2022 season

Bisi Johnson – WR

A year after going down with a torn ACL, Vikings wide receiver Bisi Johnson ran into some bad luck during the team’s final preseason game this summer when he tore the ACL in his other knee.

Johnson will miss his second-straight regular season because of a torn ACL, and to make the injury even more brutal, his contract with Minnesota is set to expire in 2023. If he wants to continue playing in the NFL, he’ll have to convince a team that he can stay healthy.

T.Y. McGill – DL

Like Johnson, Vikings defensive lineman T.Y. McGill was a victim of bad luck in the team’s final exhibition game of the year as he suffered an ankle injury during the matchup.

Initially, McGill’s injury wasn’t believed to be something that would keep him sidelined for very long. But tests clearly revealed that his injury was significant enough for Minnesota to place him on their injured reserve list, ending his chance of playing in the 2022 season.

Thomas Hennigan – WR

Signed as an undrafted free agent earlier this year, Vikings wide receiver Thomas Hennigan suffered a shoulder injury during the team’s training camp this summer. Some believed Hennigan could have potentially been Minnesota’s punt returner this season, but that’s obviously something that will have to wait until next year.

Kenny Willekes – DE

Vikings defensive lineman Kenny Willekes was placed on the team’s injured reserve list earlier this year after he suffered an undisclosed injury this past spring. This will be the second time in three years with Minnesota that Willekes will miss an entire season due to an injury.
