K.J. Osborn will post his first 1,000-yard season

At this time last year, K.J. Osborn appeared to be on the verge of getting cut. Coming into this season, he’s poised for a breakout season.

Osborn’s rookie season was a disaster as he was used primarily as a punt returner, but he rebounded last year to post 655 yards and seven touchdowns. A lot of the focus will be on Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, but Osborn has just as much to gain in the Vikings’ new offense.

Many people believe that Jefferson will be used in “The Cooper Kupp Role” which helped the Los Angeles Rams receiver become the NFL’s first triple crown winner since 2005. But using him in that role would suppress some of his talents downfield which makes Osborn a perfect candidate for that role.

With his ability to get open in short spaces, Osborn could rack up catches and help move the change while Jefferson does his damage downfield. Osborn’s ability as a blocker could also help the running game, which puts him in a prime position to contribute.

Osborn won’t be flirting with a triple crown as Kupp did, but if he can build off his success from a year ago, 1,000 yards isn’t out of the question.
