3rd Place in the NFC North

Detroit Lions

  • Final Record: 8-8 (3-3 in NFC North)

Maybe it’s the recency bias from them being on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” this summer, or maybe it’s because their head coach could have a career in pro wrestling if he wanted to, but it feels like the Lions are going to be much better this season than they have been in the last few years.

Detroit’s roster isn’t full of star players, but they’ve got plenty of young talent led by rookie defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, and they’ve got a bunch of guys with something to prove.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell is among those who have something to prove this season. Campbell is viewed by many as just some meathead with a whistle, but his passion for the game is second to none.

He’s clearly searching for new ways to approach the sport, whether it’s adding a bunch of former players to his coaching staff or having Detroit’s players run a training camp practice on their own, he knows he has to think outside of the box if he’s going to get this franchise heading in the right direction.

The Lions still have plenty of question marks on their roster, but Campbell is going to have them ready to fight each and every week this season.
